Can you provide details about the qualifications and expertise of your FCP?

Our FCPs are qualified Physiotherapists with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Musculoskeletal (MSK) medicine. They possess the skills to screen for non-MSK pathology and to assess, diagnose, and manage MSK conditions effectively. This enables them to alleviate the MSK workload within PCNs, allowing other staff to focus on non-MSK patients. FCPs who have undergone additional training in non-medical prescribing and/or injection therapy can extend their scope of practice in primary care, further enhancing their ability to support other practice staff.

How does our service adapt to our Primary Care Network's evolving needs and ensure continuity during staff transitions?

We tailor our services to the specific needs of your PCN, investing time to understand your requirements and provide expert advice on the most suitable service model. Our approach involves collaborating with PCNs to explore innovative solutions, such as care home services, domiciliary care, group education, or leveraging new technologies for enhanced primary care delivery. While we strive to minimize staff turnover through strategic recruitment and retention practices, we ensure continuity during staff transitions by facilitating thorough induction for new hires and maintaining temporary staffing options when necessary.

How seamlessly does your FCP service integrate with our existing GP practices and primary care workflows to minimise disruptions?

Our FCPs seamlessly integrate into your existing GP practices and primary care workflows. We provide support and training to optimize the utilization of FCP services for both clinical and non-clinical practice staff. Moreover, we actively contribute to the advancement of MSK management pathways to improve patient care, enhance efficiency, and benefit the broader NHS.

How efficient is your referral process, and how accessible are FCP services to GPs and patients in our network?

We prioritise simplicity and accessibility in our referral process, offering direct booking options for reception and clinical staff within practices. Patients with MSK conditions can book appointments directly with FCPs, eliminating the need for a prior GP visit. We facilitate the booking process with clear information and service criteria to maximize first-contact service rates.

What ongoing support and training opportunities do you provide for FCPs to ensure continuous professional development within our PCN?

We offer comprehensive CPD and supervision programs tailored to FCPs’ professional development needs. Our training matrix covers essential modules, MSK competencies, FCP-specific topics, and advanced programs such as independent prescribing and injection therapy. We provide ongoing support through various channels, including weekly teaching sessions, case-based discussions, and individual development plans.

What data and metrics can our service offer to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of FCP services in our Primary Care Network?

We collect and analyse data from each clinic session to measure service utilization, appointment types, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction. We customize data metrics to align with PCN requirements and offer analytical insights and recommendations for improvement.

Are FCP Physio services eligible for Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) funding?

FCP Physio services are eligible for Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) funding, facilitating reimbursement of PCN and service costs. We also offer self-funding and top-up options to accommodate specific budgetary needs.

How do your FCPs communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in our PCN for effective teamwork?

We establish effective communication and collaboration channels between FCPs and other healthcare professionals within the PCN to ensure seamless teamwork and coordinated patient care.

How do you ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance for musculoskeletal care in our PCN?

We maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure high-quality MSK care delivery within PCNs through regular service audits, staff appraisals, and proactive feedback mechanisms. Our account managers and FCP leads are dedicated to addressing any concerns and promoting continuous improvement.
